In this lab, I will configure a Fortigate firewall for a remote connection from a client PC, as shown below. On the left side, there is a windows PC that tries to access remote side resources in secure. Both side have public and private IP addresses that provide NAT transition and encapsulation.

Step 4. Proof of the concept

In conclusion, as shown above, the client pc can access to resources of the fortinet site using forticlient application. People may need to workplace/company, school resources using a virtual private network. Encryption, hash algorithm, key exchange protocol can be seen in this example.
